Sites
A Site is a container for Submissions. It usually represents a single Journal Title. Every Submission that is sent is connected to a site.
Note
It is possible to send a Submission without a Site ID, but we may remove this ability for future accounts. Please always use Sites.
Schema
A Site has the following fields:
| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Human readable Name. Usually the Journal Title. |
| id | ID within Oversight. Send this with a Submission. |
| Client Platform | The Client Platform ID. |
| Client Platform Site ID | The ID of the Site within your Platform |
| OpenAlex Source ID | OpenAlex's ID for the publication (corresponds to an ISSN) |
Access Control
Sites are used for access control. Org Managers can grant User access to specific Sites in order to control which Submissions they can see.
A Customer can also grant Read or Write access for a Service Provider. See Service Providers.
Other Integrations
In our integrations for Editorial Manager and ScholarOne, a Site corresponds to the Site on that platform. The Client Platform Site ID is the ID of the site within that system.
Viewing Sites
You can find the list of your Sites in Oversight by navigating to Menu -> Organization -> Your Sites. Use the Clear Skies Site ID field in your submission.
If you're a Service Provider you can find the list of Sites you have access to with Menu -> Organization -> Customer Sites.
