Sandbox

The Sandbox environment is intended for testing integrations. This might be useful if you are developing a new integration, or want to test out a new feature.

You can access the Sandbox API at: https://api.sandbox.clear-skies.co.uk/ .

You can access the Sandbox UI at: https://app.sandbox.clear-skies.co.uk/ .

Note

You may not need the Sandbox. For testing smaller changes it may be simpler to create a test site on the Production system. When you contact us we'll discuss your requirements.

Reduced features

The purpose of Sandbox is to help integration test against the API. Sandbox runs the latest version of the software but the user interface has a cut down feature set.

Sandbox contains no information about Publications. When you view reports in Sandbox you may not see a fully featured report.

The performance of the Sandbox may be slower than Production.

The data in Sandbox should be treated as ephemeral. We reserve the right to delete the data in this environment at any time. No production data should be sent to Sandbox.

No analysis

Submissions are processed, but we do not perform production analysis on the input. Instead a hard-coded result is returned.

Getting Access

Please contact us. We will create an Organization, Users and Sites for you.

Using the API

You can generate an API token in the user interface, as you would with Production. This can only be used against Sandbox. You can also find your list of test sites IDs.

Follow the same advice as for production, especially:

  • Be sure to discuss what the appropriate client_platform is for your use case.
  • Please tell us any callback_url or file_url domains that you want to use, along with any secrets.
  • Be sure to look up the appropriate site_id in the app.

Simulating results

A hard-coded result is returned for each Submission you make. If you add the word RED, ORANGE or GREEN to the title, the result will have that alert rating.
